After finishing 2017 in the Top 5% of Sales Professionals at his previous brokerage - Coldwell Banker, Derek was presented with the opportunity to move to one of the most progressive and innovative real estate brands in the industry. Being born and raised in the South Bay, Derek's knowledge and love of the area grew organically. After graduating West Torrance High School, he earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Irvine. Prior to real estate, he did pricing negotiations and profitability analysis for one of the world's largest pre-employment screening providers.
Michelle was born and raised in the South Bay. After attending schools in Gardena, Rancho Palos Verdes, and Carson, she attended the University of California, Irvine (UCI). She went on to achieve her Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of Southern California (USC). Michelle has taught in the Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Torrance Unified School Districts. In addition to her teaching experience, she has worked for over 4 years in the non-profit field. She has experience as a Program Manager, Director, and Interim Executive Director. Michelle brings her expertise in organizing, event coordination, and strategic planning to the Hirano Homes team. She hopes to apply her background in teaching to create tools and helpful handouts for first time home buyers, sellers, down-sizers, and everyone in between.
